1. Who we are
This policy explains how ATN Electric Company (“ATN”, “we”, “us”) collects and handles personal information through atnsmart.pk and our retail branches.
2. The legal position in Pakistan
Pakistan does not currently have a single comprehensive data-protection statute in force. A Personal Data Protection Bill has been under consideration for several years but has not been enacted. In the absence of that law, our handling of your data is governed by our contractual obligations to you, the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act 2016 (PECA) (which criminalises unauthorised access to and interference with data and information systems), the Electronic Transactions Ordinance 2002, and, where a payment is involved, the Payment Systems and Electronic Fund Transfers Act 2007 together with the rules of the State Bank of Pakistan. We have chosen to apply the practices set out below as a matter of policy.
3. What we collect
- Order information – name, delivery address, phone number, email address and order contents.
- Payment information – handled by our payment providers. We do not store full card numbers on our servers.
- Technical information – IP address, browser type, device type and pages visited, collected through cookies and analytics.
- Correspondence – messages you send us by the contact form, email, phone or WhatsApp.
4. Why we use it
- To take, process, deliver and invoice your order.
- To provide after-sales support and to administer warranty claims.
- To respond to your enquiries.
- To improve the website and our product range.
- To send marketing messages where you have asked to receive them. You can opt out at any time.
5. Who we share it with
We share your information only with parties who need it to fulfil your order: courier and logistics companies, payment processors, and IT and hosting providers. We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information where required to do so by Pakistani law, a court order, or a lawful request from a competent authority.
6. Cookies and analytics
We use cookies for basic site function (cart and checkout) and analytics. Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies. Blocking essential cookies may prevent checkout from working.
7. Security
The site is served over HTTPS and access to order data is restricted to authorised staff. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of information transmitted over the internet.
8. Retention
We keep order and invoice records for as long as needed for warranty, accounting and tax purposes. Marketing contact details are kept until you unsubscribe.
9. Your choices
You may ask us to provide a copy of the information we hold about you, correct anything inaccurate, delete information we no longer need, or stop sending you marketing. Write to us at the address above and we will respond within 30 days.
10. Children
The site is not directed at children under 18 and we do not knowingly collect their information.
11. Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
