How to set up a smart home in Pakistan
A plain-language guide to the parts of a smart home — wall switches, control panels, door locks, WiFi accessories and lighting — and how to plan them room by room before you ask for a quote.

The building blocks of a smart home
A smart home is not one product. It is a set of parts that each do one job, chosen so they look consistent on the wall and cover the things you actually want to control. Most homes are built from some or all of these:
- Wall switches — the switches and sockets you touch every day, in a finish that suits the room.
- Control panels — an in-wall touch screen that brings several controls together in one place.
- Smart door locks — entry by face, fingerprint, PIN or card instead of only a key.
- WiFi accessories — plug-in and add-on devices such as a smart power extension, an LED strip and an IR remote.
- Lighting — a pendant light and LED ropelight.
You do not need all of them. Many homes start with switches in the main rooms and add a panel or a lock later. The sections below explain what each part does so you can decide what belongs in your plan.
Start with the wall switches
Switches are the part of the system you see and use most, so the choice of range and colour matters as much as the features. We stock several ranges:
Smart switches
WiFi switches you can run from your phone, on a timer, or by voice with Alexa and Google Home on supported models.
Smart switches →Glass switches
The Luxury range with a tempered glass panel in black, white, grey or gold, and the Aluminum range in black or grey.
Glass switches →Matt switches
Black, white and grey, from 1- to 6-gang switches to MF sockets, dimmers and TV, Tel and data outlets.
Matt switches →R-Series piano switches
Piano-style switches in three finishes: R1 white, R2 grey and R3 black.
R-Series →A practical approach is to pick one range and colour for the main living areas so every wall plate matches, then decide where you want smart control and where a standard switch is enough. If you are unsure, see the ranges side by side in a showroom before you choose.
Add a control panel for one screen per room or home
An in-wall control panel puts several controls on one touch screen. We carry three:
- T3E Pro 4-inch panel — a touch screen with a built-in 4-gang relay, plus curtain and dimmer control.
- 4-inch panel with Alexa built in — a compact panel with voice control on the wall.
- 8-inch T8 Pro — an Android 11 panel with Alexa built in, a Zigbee and Bluetooth gateway for 128+ sub-devices, and three IR blasters.
The right one depends on how much you want to control from a single point. Our control panel comparison sets the three side by side, and the control panel range has the full listings.
Choose a smart door lock by how you want to get in
The main difference between our smart door locks is the way you open them:
- Door Lock 7F and Door Lock X6 — face recognition with a built-in HD camera.
- Handle lock — fingerprint, PIN and card entry.
Think about who uses the door: family members, staff, visitors who need temporary access. Then pick the entry methods that suit them. All three are in the door lock range, and the lock mechanism and electronics carry a 12-month warranty. Our smart door lock guide compares the entry methods in more detail.
Fill the gaps with WiFi accessories
Not everything needs to be wired into the wall. Our WiFi products include a smart power extension, a 5-metre LED strip, a timer plug, a WiFi smart controller and a universal IR remote. Several work with Alexa and Google Home, but support varies by model, so check before you buy. Our Alexa and Google Home guide goes through it product by product, or ask us on WhatsApp to confirm a specific item.
Plan the lighting with the switches
Lighting and switches are easier to plan together, because the switch positions follow the lights. Our LED lighting includes a cone pendant light and a 7mm wireless LED ropelight. For LED strips, see the WiFi accessories above.
Plan it room by room
You do not need technical drawings to get a useful quote. A simple list per room is enough to start:
- List the roomsBedrooms, lounge, kitchen, entrance and any outdoor areas you want included.
- Note what you want to control in eachLights, fans, curtains, sockets — and whether you want it on the wall, on a panel, by voice or from your phone.
- Pick a range and colourChoose one switch range and finish for each area so the wall plates match.
- Decide on panels and locksMark where a control panel would help, and which doors would suit a smart lock.
- Send it to usSend your room count or a floor plan on WhatsApp. We reply with suitable options, availability and a written quote covering products, wiring requirements and installation.
